Jim Stoppani received his doctorate in exercise physiology with a minor in biochemistry from the University of Connecticut. Following graduation, he served as a postdoctoral research fellow in the prestigious John B. Pierce Laboratory and Department of Cellular and Molecular Physiology at Yale University School of Medicine, where he investigated the effects of exercise and diet on gene regulation in muscle tissue. He was awarded the Gatorade Beginning Investigator in Exercise Science Award in 2002 by the American Physiological Society.
Currently, he serves as senior science editor for Muscle & Fitness, Muscle & Fitness Hers and Flex magazines and is the host of the popular online training and nutrition video series Muscle & Fitness Raw!, as seen at www.muscleandfitness.com. He has written thousands of articles on exercise, nutrition and health and is author of the book Encyclopedia of Muscle & Strength (Human Kinetics, 2006), co-author of the book LL Cool J's Platinum 360 Diet and Lifestyle (Rodale, 2010), co-author of the book Stronger Arms & Upper Body (Human Kinetics, 2008), and co-author of the chapter "Nutritional Needs of Strength/Power Athletes" in the textbook Essentials of Sports Nutrition and Supplements (Humana Press, 2008).

In 2008, Andrea was recognized within the fitness industry and was named IDEA Personal Trainer of the Year Finalist. Celebrity Trainer Christopher Ross Lane has been an active part of the fitness industry for the last 10 years. He spent most of his life as an elite athlete competing on the national level as a springboard diver throughout high school and college career. A graduate of the University of Arizona with B.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Lane continued his love of sport and fitness as a swimming and diving coach in the U.S. and South Africa.
He furthered his fitness career receiving a certification in the Biomechanics of Resistance Training from the Cooper Aerobics Institute in Texas. After moving to Los Angeles in 2002, Christopher transitioned into full time personal training working with clients at two of the hottest fitness clubs in America, Crunch and Jillian's Michael's Sky Sport and Spa in West Hollywood.
Since 2003, Lane has trained some of television, film, and the music industries biggest names, such as America's top trainer, Jillian Michaels, Jenny Craig spokes models - Valerie Bertinelli and Nicole Sullivan to name a few. He's solidified a name for himself in fitness by passionately focusing on science based training techniques—especially postural core alignment.
For the last few years, Christopher has worked with Jillian Michael's as her trainer and as her back-up trainer on the hit show "The Biggest Loser". He also developed and co-starred in Valerie's Losing It workout DVD and is featured in her book 'Finding It". Christopher has been a featured keynote speaker at conferences across the U.S. speaking on the importance and integration of fitness into your everyday lifestyle. True Hollywood Story, Entertainment Tonight to name a few. Currently, Christopher resides in Los Angeles.
Brook Benten, M.Ed., is President of Cardiopump Fitness, LLC. Brook obtained her Bachelor's of Science in Exercise and Sport Science at Texas State University, and her Master's of Education in Physical Education with emphasis in Fitness Management from The University of Houston. A few of her certifications include: ACSM-HFS, ACE-CPT, and AFAA. While serving as Fitness Director at SMU, she received the 2009 President's Award for Continuing Excellence. She was the March 2009 "Wellness Spotlight" for the American College Personnel Association. Brook is a kettlebell continuing education provider for the American Council on Exercise and the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. She is also a workout DVD presenter and choreographer.
By educating others on basic nutrition and physical fitness, she hopes to impart a passion for exercise and lifelong pursuit of health and wellness.
